Who-Fest [12] – May 12 and 13th – Coolidge Park
First and foremost, our major event for the year is Who-Fest and we have made some major changes for 2012. The biggest change is that we have moved from Renaissance Park to the larger and better known Coolidge Park. We have also changed the date and moved the event a couple of weeks earlier. This was done 1) to hopefully catch a little bit cooler weather, 2) the traffic, exposure, and “name recognition” of Coolidge Park is 2nd to none in Chattanooga, and 3) because of the popularity, it was the best available choice to book in May. A side benefit is that our official media sponsor, Brewer Media, will be able to better promote out event on the earlier date (much less competition than on Memorial Day weekend).
For more information, go to www.whofest.com. (we have added the ability to apply and pay online) You can also keep up with the festival on Facebook: www.facebook.com/whofest
6th Faux Bridges Art and Literature Festival – April 13th thru 15th – @Winder Binder
Faux Bridge is our smaller signature event in the Spring. It is three days of book signings, music and poetry readings inside the gallery and a two-day art show (Saturday/Sunday) in the lot adjacent the gallery. This event is the same weekend as Four Bridges in Chattanooga and our playful take on their name always gets a lot of attention for the event (thanks Michael Jenkins for the name!). This year we are also excited that Faux Bridge is a part of a week long series of art events called the Hatch Festival.
This is a smaller event with limited availability (maximum of 25 artists). But, some spots are still available.
For more information, go to www.fauxbridges.com (online application and payment should be available on Monday, March 12th) More info on Hatch: www.hatchchatt.org
7th Annual One Bridge Art Festival – October 5th thru 7th — @Winder Binder
One Bridge is the oldest festival we produce and it if the Fall equivalent of Faux Bridges. This event is always in conjunction with Wine Over Water, one of the signature socials events of the year in Chattanooga (which takes place on the Walnut Street Bridge). But this year One Bridge will also be one of the featured events of the 30th anniversary of the Kudzu Festival (this event will feature over 60 events on the NorthShore, of which One Bridge will be the geographical center).
For more information, go to www.onebridgefolkart.com online application and payment should be available on Monday, March 12th) For more info on the Kudzu Festival : www.hatchchatt.org
Art til Dark NorthShore Outdoor Market – March thru November
Now in its 7th season, Art til Dark has become a favorite of those who live and visit the NorthShore. It is a 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturday open air market.
We also have a two-day Art til Dark Holiday Market on the Black Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. This one sells out quickly each year and there is a preferred ranking (points system) for those who participate regularly during the season.
For more information, go to www.arttildark.com
Of course, in addition to these larger events, we have constant stream of art and literature events almost every weekend of the year. For all the latest, check out our events calendar on WinderBinder.com or friend us on facebook. www.winderbinder.com — http://winderbinder.wordpress.com/events-calendar/ — www.facebook.com/winderbinder
If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact us (Kara is the point person for booking shows) via phone: 423-413-8999 or email: kara@winderbinder.com
We look forward to seeing all out friends sometime this year!
Sincerely,
David Smotherman

In Atlanta…
Call for vintage vendors.
Greetings!
Smack dab in the center of Atlanta sits The Goat Farm Arts Center – Home to The Revival’s Vintage “Pop-Up” Marketplace. The market will host national, regional, and local vintage sellers, designers, and experts congregating together to bring curated vintage wares and “do-it-yourself” skills to worshippers of all that is vintage.
Known for its artist studios and creative minds, the Goat Farm Arts Center is the perfect location for the revival of vintage – it resides in a mid-Victorian industrial site with 12 acres of grounds and 12 turn of the century brick structures. Its non-traditional rustic auditoriums will hold 120+ vintage vendors, expert-taught seminars, live music, and vintage-inspired food that will make you say “Hallelujah!.”

In Dekalb County
Hello All,
Well its almost that time to start getting ready for the 4th Annual Art At The Barn! This year’s show will be on Saturday, May 5, and we are preparing for the biggest and best show yet. We have acted on the suggestions of the artists and patrons for some great improvements. The artist field will be more accessible and also there will be a new exit route for patrons to help with the traffic flow. Another change is that there will be no artist under the barn this year. This area will be dedicated to dinning and a shady place for people to gather and rest. We look forward to having all of you back, along with expected newcomers. Our show has grown to be Dekalb County’s largest true art show. I am quite proud of all the talented artists that have helped make our vision a reality. We look forward to hearing from each of you! Please see attached application.
Sincerely,
Paulette

This in from Kathe Hall…
You may remember I contacted you a few months ago about being a part of the Sharptop Arts Association’s Folk Art Show in July 2012. Sharptop is our little arts center in Jasper and every other month they have a show of sorts. We have not had a folk art show there in forever! I volunteered to put together a show for July 2012 and I wanted it to be a folk art show.
Each of you for one reason or the other is dear to my “artistic soul” and I am thrilled to have you all particpate in this show.
This is a non profit center so your work will be for sale and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the center. So keep that in mind when pricing your items. I would love to have at least 5 -10 pieces from each of you.
If I need to come get your art I would be thrilled to do so. Delivery should be the last week in June as the show will open the first thursday of July and we will have an artist reception on the last Friday of July. I hope you all can make it then as this will also be the pick up down for the art. So dates for delivery will be as listed on the contract. HOWEVER, if you want to deliver on Friday June 29th or Saturday July 30th…. LET me know as you can drop off at my gallery.
Please confirm by replying to this email that you will participate. I will keep you posted closer to the date.
If you are in Jasper please stop by and see me… I have moved VanGoghs Hideaway in the building where Burnt Mountain Trading Company is located. 14 Mark Whitfield Street, downtown Jasper, just 1/2 block off Main Street. I love the new location and it’s going to be a fun 2012. If any of you don’t have any artwork at Burnt Mt. but would like to show some at VanGoghs let me know. I love having different artist in there. We are a hang out for artist as well and I teach my mosaic classes there. Also if any of you have a desire to teach a class there this spring…please let me know… Folks are asking every day for painting classes.
Though I am not there everyday… please come by when you can. Or call me 706-692-5625 home or cell 404-580-5013 before you come and I will meet you there and maybe we can have lunch. Jasper, is such a great little town and we are trying to get our arts program “hopping” for 2012 so I appreciate anything any of you can do…
Follow VanGoghs Hideaway on Facebook too!!!!
Last but not least I am attaching an application for a Fun Art Contest and Fund Raiser for the Boys and Girls Club of North Georgia!!!! I hope you can all participate…This will be so much fun and its for a worthwild cause. Please feel free to copy and give to some of your other artist friends. NOTE…there is an application deadline!
Hugs, Love, Peace and Happy Creating to all of you!!!

Here is a look at the row of Who-Ha booths participating in Folk Fest 2011. For the fourth year in a row, we had the largest booth in the house! The show was a killer, kudos to Amy and Steve Slotin. Thanks for all the good people who showed up. Look at the banners in the row shot, you can easily spot us at the show.
